About Us

The Community Development Department is responsible for:

Providing information to the general public on planning and zoning.
Reviewing and issuing building permits.
Conducting inspections for new construction and ensuring compliance with applicable planning, zoning, and building-related regulations.
Preparing and administering contracts for special Community Development-related programs.
Coordinating with other City, local, and state departments.
Monitoring regional and state activities that impact the City.
Ensuring the City's development-related documents comply with state and federal requirements.
Providing staff support to the City Manager, City Attorney, Planning Commission, City Council, and the general public.
