Election Information

On the second Tuesday in November of every even-numbered year, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder conducts municipal elections for the City of Lawndale. At this election, Lawndale voters elect a Mayor, members of the City Council, a City Clerk (every four years), and may also vote on City measures. All City offices are nonpartisan. Since the City's election is consolidated with the statewide general election, Lawndale voters may also elect their representatives to federal, state, county, and district offices, and vote on additional measures.

To be eligible for election to a City office, a person must be a U.S. citizen who is at least 18 years of age, a resident of Lawndale, and a registered voter in Lawndale. Election campaigns are governed by state law.

For further information, please contact the City Clerk’s Department at (310) 973-3213.
