VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
The Community Services Department has an ongoing need for responsible, self-motivated, caring and creative individuals who come from diverse backgrounds to help in our community programs. The volunteer program provides a source of talent and manpower to help us deliver quality service to the community. Please check with the Community Services office to see what volunteer opportunities are available.
ADULT VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
Lawndale has opportunities for adults of all ages to get involved by contributing time and effort to make a difference in our community. There are many areas in which volunteers can help, including the senior lunch program, coaching youth sports, special events, clerical work, art classes, or helping pack and distribute food for our commodities food program. All adult volunteers must fill out an application, and complete a background check and an orientation before starting.
TEEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
By volunteering, teens 13-17 will learn valuable leadership and teamwork skills, gain experience for future employment, complete high school service requirements, and above all, be a part of the Lawndale Community Service Team! There are a variety of volunteer opportunities including youth sports, senior programs, special events, and summer camp. Some of our teen volunteer programs are seasonal so check with the Community Service Department for current opportunities. All teen volunteers must fill out an application and attend an orientation before starting.
