On the second Tuesday in November of every even-numbered year, the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder conducts elections for the City. At this election, Lawndale voters elect a Mayor, members of the City Council, a City Clerk, and may also vote on City measures. All City offices are non-partisan. Since the City's election is combined with the Statewide general election, Lawndale voters may also elect their representatives to Federal, State, County, District offices, and may vote on measures.
To be elected to a City office, a person must be a U.S. Citizen who is 18 years of age or older, be Lawndale residents and registered to vote in Lawndale. State laws govern election campaigns. For further information, feel free to contact the City Clerk Department at (310) 973-3200.
