Government Code Section 87200 identifies City elected officials, including the Mayor and City Councilmembers, as well as the City Manager, City Attorney, and City Treasurer, as statutory filers required to submit Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700). These statements promote transparency by disclosing financial interests that could potentially create conflicts of interest in governmental decision-making. Copies of Statements of Economic Interests filed by elected officials and other statutory filers may be accessed online through the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC) electronic filing system, by contacting the City Clerk's Office or by submitting a CITY OF LAWNDALE PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST FORM 2026 – Fill out form.

The Political Reform Act requires public agencies to adopt and maintain a Conflict of Interest Code identifying positions within the organization that are involved in making or participating in governmental decisions that may affect an employee’s financial interests. The code also establishes the types of financial interests that must be disclosed, requires designated employees to file Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700), and outlines situations in which employees must disqualify themselves from participating in or influencing decisions that could create a conflict of interest. The City's current Conflict of Interest Code was approved by the City Council in August 2024 and complies with all applicable state requirements.
