The City of Lawndale, in partnership with the Salvation Army, Redondo Beach, offers daily home delivered meals to Lawndale residents. 

The meals are delivered to Lawndale elderly residents 60 years of age or older who are unable to prepare their own meals due to illness, or physical handicaps.

Meals are delivered to resident homes Monday through Friday, between 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM

The cost per meal is $5.50, billed monthly. 

The City's Senior Services Division is required to conduct a telephone assessment to confirm eligibility prior to the delivery of meals.

Program does not operate on City-Observed holidays or weekends.

Daily Congregate Meal Program

To get qualified, new customers contact Reshonda Everage at [email protected] or via telephone at (310) 973-3287. A telephone interview must be completed prior to receiving any meal delivery.

Daily congregate meals occur between 11:30-12:30 pm from Monday through Friday on the third floor.

Enjoy a delicious hot meal that includes the five primary food groups plus dessert provided by friendly Lawndale Community Services Department staff and volunteers. This program is intended to provide hot and nutritious meals for individuals seeking social interaction in a safe, clean, and relaxed environment. This program is funded by Los Angeles County and operated by Community Services Department in conjunction with the Free transportation to and from the lunch program is available by calling the transit hotline at (310) 973-3287 and leaving a voice mail message no less than 48 hours in advance of desired transportation date. Program participants must fill out a universal intake form to join the program. 

*Participants must order a meal no less than 24 hours in advance by calling Community Service Department meal reservation hotline at (310) 973-3278, or email [email protected].

**Program will not operate on the following City-observed holidays: June 19th Juneteenth Day, July 4th Independence Day.

***Non-seniors, of those below 60 years of age may participate at a suggested donation of $5 per meal per day.

****Suggested donation amount for seniors above 60 years of age is $3.75.
